| Did your parents do things that you said you never would but yet you do?? | | I remember when I was was growing up I always thought that my Grandmother and my Dad were way to overprotective and way to overbearing. And I always thought when I grow up and have kids I am going to let them do whatever they want and will never be so overprotective with my children. And then I had kids!! Now I get it. I honestly think that I am way more overprotective than they are. I have a daughter that is 6 and a son that is 4 and I am rarely away from either one of them. If I have to In the past three months I may have been away from them half a dozen times. Oh they are so precious and dear. I worry so much about them. We are staying in a camper right now 1,000 miles away from home and they have bunk beds but I will not let them sleep on the top bunk. It is 5 feet from the floor and has no rail to keep them from falling off. I worry myself to death all the time about things that could happen. Two days ago they were both twirling around all over and I asked them to stop before they got hurt and no sooner than it came out of my mouth my daughter hit her eye on the corner of the drawer. It gave her a good bruise. I am just thankful it is under her eye and it was not her eyeball.... | |
| | Did you have your own room as a child, or did you have to share? | | Sharing a room with a sibling isn't so bad is it? I just have to ask because I don't have any brothers or sisters, I've always wondered what it's like to have at least one sibling.I always had my own room when living with my momma and daddy growing up, and the couple years I lived with my Grandma, I shared a room with one of my cousins because there were more kids than there were rooms. I'm just glad that 5-10 of us didn't have to bump up in one small room. That would of been uncomfortable, NOT to mention a**DISASTER!** Hehe![em]lol[/em]How was your childhood bedroom experience? Did you love it, like it, hate it, or would you just say "OH Heck, WHATEVER?" | |

| Believe In What? | | Its the only ghost story i have:I was out in New Hamshire, the Keene Area a while ago spending a weekend at my friends dads home. Her parents had separated a while before and her dad lives alone in a large home that has been in his family for a long time. The home is in an area with lots of woods, not so many neighbors. On the way there my friend simply told me "by the way, its haunted". Your telling me now? I didnt really know how to react so i just waited to see what it was like. The two story house made of dark wood panels with lots of knick knacks everywhere had a welcoming yet not so much feeling to it. We spent a lot of the afternoon in the downstairs den area where we heard someone running, like they were training for a marathon, in the upstairs corridor. Her dad said "its just the ghost, i think its my dad", and nothing more (it was my first time meeting him). My friend was like, "probobly my grandpa". Anyway, night came and we were getting ready for bed. Her dad sleeps downstairs with the TV on the couch everynight even though he has his room upstairs. My friends little sister and friend decided to sleep upstairs with us, but in the room at the far end of the... | |
| | Birthday party for niece | | This weekend we attended a wonderful birthday party for my niece's fifth birthday. Abby is such a creative little girl. She is both a tomboy and a girly girl. She loves to play dress up but can boss the boys around in style. My sister in law throws the best birthday party's for her children. This one was actually toned down a bit form the usual but it was still quite fantastic. The theme was a princess one so the cake was designed to look like a Disney Castle. It was gorgeous. It was capped with several Disney Princess's sitting in the turrets. It was almost too pretty to eat. I am glad we did eat it because it was delicious too.Aside from the usual party fare of cake, a small lunch buffet was served. Marybeth even had made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the shape of pumpkins. After lunch each child was presented with a pumpkin of their own to decorate. The table was strewn with assorted decorations such as paint, markers, pom poms, stickers, and feathers. The children had a great deal of fun designing fancy pumpkins. After clean up everyone marched outdoors to have their shot at striking the pinata. It was a lot of fun. Finally it was time for the presents. Abby was... | |

| When family come to visit you, how do you decide where each one sleeps? | | [em]w00t[/em] As some of you already know, my Mum and Aunt are visiting from New Zealand in July. They will be staying with my Aunt and Uncle in Connecticut and then driving down with them to visit us in DC for a few days (hopefully a week at least). We live in a two bedroom/bath apartment building. We have one king size bed in our master bedroom and a bunk bed in my son's bedroom. We will be housing 4 adults during that time and I am not sure how to go about arranging the sleeping areas to accomodate them as well as my hubby, son and I. What would you do? I want to make sure they ALL are comfortable during their stay here with us as we don't mind bunking on the floor anywhere.Should I put them all in both rooms and we sleep in the lounge area? If so, what should I do about the bunk beds? should I just have one sleep on the bottom and buy another matress or airbed for the other to sleep on the floor? or should I buy a double airbed and have them both on the floor and move the bunk bed to the corner and we can use the matresses for us in the lounge?Who should I put in our room? My Mum and Aunt or my Aunt and Uncle? all are 60 years + and my Aunt that is coming with... | |
| | childrens room. | | use a bed guard when your toddler first moves to a bed . top bunk beds must have safety rails on both sides and no gaps in the railings or between the top of the matress and the bottom of the safety rail.never let children play on the bed.
