Are you obsessive about yours? | | When i moved to the east coast i left almost everything behind that wasn't the kids.. most was hand me down stuff anyways and it would have cost more to ship then we paid for it!! so when I was looking for dinner ware sets. . i came across SQUARE platesand bowls.. and now i am obsessed with them. . I bought them for myself with christmas money my aunt gave me and i cant wait to get to use them. Then i seen these lamps, a set of four, floor lamp, table lamp, and two accent lamps, they have that crushed glass decor to them, and they were expensive, but again, i had to have them. lolThen there was the bedset.. I wish angel was here to make fun of my for getting a 250$ bed in a bag.. after i made fun of her for her 100$ bath mat for so long. . On to the flatware (silverware) .. now these were a gift.. but they came in a suitcase with locks on it.. wow.. i do not know how much they cost but they look expensive.. Boy am i glad i gave away all my stuff in ontario!!Have you ever become obsessed with something you've seen in the store and just had to have them?

| | I am half moved | | Ok this is just an update for anyone that is interested. Some of you may know that I am in the process of moving out of state. And some of you may have noticed that I have been missing for about a week now. Well I am ok and not banned from here LOLLast Thursday we got to close on the house and both hubby and I had to be there to sign papers. We decided to go ahead and rent a truck and haul half our stuff down to the new house since we were going down there anyway. (why waste the trip right?) Closing went well but moving in didnt go so smoothly. The first thing to get hauled in the house was our overstuffed couch. Wouldnt you know it was too big to go through either door. We did get it to go through the dining room window after awhile of thinking and trying. It only took me, hubby, the neighbor and the Cheif of Police to get the couch in the house. LOL We originally planned to stay at hubby's apartment but since the utilities were already on at the house we stayed there. But what we didnt think about was the fact that because we had planned to stay at the apartment (which was furnished with pots and pans) we didnt pack anything to cook in or eat off of. So we had to wing it... | |
| | Football player shot and killed, who keeps a machete by their bed? | | If you've read the current news stories coming out of Miami that Washington Redskins football player Sean Taylor died from gunshot wounds received during a home invasion, you might have read somewhere in the story that Taylor kept a machette at his bedside "for protection" as he slept.
I can tell you this... I take a lot of things to bed with me at night to feel safe... a nightlight... comfort blanket... a body pillow... you name it.
But a machete?
Nowhere in my mindset does jumping out of bed and hacking blindly through the darkness factor into things.
I find that inconceivable that I'd be worried enough in my own home to take a friggin sword to bed with me.
In Sean Taylor's case, apparently his fears were justified.
I wonder what Mr. Taylor did during the course of his daily life that caused him to consider brandishing a machette with his Spider-Man lounge pants when saying nighty-night to his daughter?
One can only wonder? | |
| | Do you like to use disposable forks, spoons, knives or chopsticks? | | I know it is Monday today but let us strive to be forward looking. Let's think about the weekends for that is the time when we relax and party. I am not going to ask when you eat takeaways as opposed to home-cooked meals. I am just assuming that if you cook at home, it would likely be the weekends for takeaways. If you don't cook, then it's always takeaways anyway.Today, I am curious to know if you like using disposable forks, spoons, knives or chopsticks? If you are eating burgers, fries or pizza, then fine, I think you will likely use your fingers. I also know some races prefer using their bare hands. But otherwise if you do use cutlery... when you buy a takeaway, you can normally get those plastic cutlery. It may be forks or spoons or knives or chopsticks. If you happen to be at home anyway, will you still use these plastic wares? The reason for not using is that they may not be as comfortable as what you use at home. Or that they may be dirty or unhygienic despite their clean looks. Or that they are too small for comfort. So what say you? Half the time, I use my own metal fork and... | |

| | | How To Use Table Manners | | As soon as you are seated, place your dinner napkin on your lap. As you use it during your meal, return it to its place on your lap. At the end of the meal, place your soiled napkin next to your plate, but do not refold it.
When your place setting contains a number of utensils, the general rule of thumb is to use them in order, from the outside in. If your host or hostess has properly set the table, the flatware will be laid out to match up with each course served. Once you have used a utensil, never place it back on the table or tablecloth. As you finish each course, place the utensil on the plate or bowl, along the edge furthest from you.
Sit up straight and keep your elbows off of the table. It is not okay to lean back in your chair, slouch, or lean forward onto the table. While you should never place your elbows on the table, it is permissible to rest your wrists on the table edge between courses.
At meals that are served "family style," platters should be passed to the right, or counterclockwise.
Never chew with your mouth open or talk with food in your mouth. Take small bites so that you can swallow your...
