| What Size is your bed? | | I really love the california king, just something about that big bed that looks so nice, right now I have a queen size bed, I had to get rid of my king size bed my room is smaller now, I miss my bed. again I ask what size is your bed? I am not one of those people that sleep all over the bed, just the look of the king size bed is so beautiful to me, some people do not like it, they think it is too big makes no sense, I am tall so the bigger the better, although its more a visual thing for me, I really like the the way it looks. | |
| | Bedhog | | Is your honey a bedhog?
Mine is. Every time I get up in the middle of the night and come back he is srawled all over the bed.
I have to move him over and roll him to his side.
Sometimes I end up sleeping at the foot end cause there is more room.

| | Wasn't that the worst "REWARD" challenge in the history of Survivor?!?!? | | Wasn't it tho! I mean come on..one (looked like double, definately not king) bed for three full grown people, the man in the middle (get your minds out of the gutters!) and they lay there watching a TV Movie Treasure Island..made probably before any of them were born...1 bowl of popcorn to share amongst them and the man in the middle holding it. No pillows to prop up on, just lay there flat and head at an slight angle on one small pillow and watch a TV movie...I didn't even see that they had anything to drink! I mean how "rewarding" is that? THey didn't even get to sleep in the bed or get a meal or a shower,..just a bowl of popcorn, and old movie and...well.. I guess Colby got front row seat at a cat fight, but we won't go there. Is Survivor getting chincy or what? I have thought these last several seasons the rewards were getting a bit less than in the first several seasons, but still..they were a lot better than that one last night! Can't they do any better?

| | Dont Throw That Good Sheet Away! | | That's right! If the top sheet is in decent shape but the fitted sheet is ratty, throw the fitted sheet away (or tear it into little pieces and use as rags) and get a new one! Stores now sell each parts separately so we don't have to buy the full set anymore! It doesn't matter what size, twin, double, queen or king, you can match up the printed top sheet with a solid color fitted sheet and no one will be none the wiser!! lol I've done that a few times with my queen sheets which go into our guest bedroom and it works like a charm! I bought a white fitted sheet to go with a very bright and colorful top sheet that I had and it matched very nicely! Now on another set I had these odd colors but pretty however the fitted sheet was so worn out so I took the sheet to the store to match it with a fitted sheet and lo and behold! I have another set again and it's so much cheaper than having to buy a whole set! I'll be doing it with my king bed too when the time comes. Why not?! If it saves money then heck yeah! I'll do it!!Do you do this to save money? When living frugally, one has to come up with some good ideas to make that dollar stretch as far as it can go and this idea does work for... | |
| | Have you been to the Carribbean? | | Hey mylotters! Have any of you been to the Carribbean? If so, where? And if not, where would you like to go in the Carribbean?
Today I reserved a beach house in the Bahamas for a week, I am so excited! It has two bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room, living room, and three bedrooms (1 King Bed, 1 queen, 2 singles, and a futon). It is also directly next to one of Nassau's best snorkeling beaches, Love Beach. I am very excited. I am going to have seven others come with me to cut down the cost, so it will be cheaper than a hotel overall, and more like home. The plane ticket from Pennsylvania is only $306, and the cost of the beach house will be about $230 per person, so that is a GREAT deal! We are going to stay there from December 30, 2009- January 6, 2010, so it will be over the new years. The new years celebration is spectacular in the Bahamas with the Junkanoo parade. It will be my second new years out of the country hehe. I will attach a picture of our beach[em]happy[/em]

| | STRESS, Why Salesmen/women should be ashamed of themselves. | | My wife and I were going to the furniture store to buy ourselves a new bedroom set. Low and behold whenever we go to a furniture store, we are attacked by salesmen like hyenas looking for MEAT. It was quite interesting.We first stopped at Raymour and Flanigan. We thought that they would be having some good 4th of july deals. When we walk in, I could have counted at least 30 of them standing at the door, drinking their cofee, and all of them looking at us at the same time. Then it was sort of like "who can introduce themselves first" kind of game. And they all stampeded towards us. I was scared that we would be stampeded by all them, to be honest. But I love my wife, for alot of reasons including this; She said please let us look, and they kept on bombarding her with brochures. Then shes like, I dont want any of this garbage, and she walks away with her back to them pulling my hand with her. I was happy, but I sensed them lurking in the shadows, waiting for their kill. Lol. The prices were outrageous, the bedroom set including a armoir, bed, dresser, and nightstand was $5500! She was so mad when the salespeople started coming back to her saying that " They could work out a... | |
| | Auctions | | Okay. Here's my views on Auctions. I never cared for them till about 10 years ago. Since then my wife & I go often to them. many unheard of bargains can be had at auctions. So far we have bought a dining room set valued at almost $1,000 for just under $400. Our living room set, couch and love seat is valued at $990 we got it for $600. We have a beautiful bedroom set also from an auction. It's a king bed complete,large dresser with huge mirror, lighted and with shelves, smaller dresser, end table and the headboard of the bed is a book shelf with light. Retails for $2,500 bought for $625. We've bought 2 lazy boys for $90 each. Many smaller itmes like porceline dolls for my daughetr, toys for grandkids. I've bought many valuables old soins too. Also many boxes of "junk" for $5 or less filled with some often found valuable items. What kind of bargains have you gotten? Do you prefer auctions over Outlet Stores? How often do you go? Do you go looking for a certain item? Do you go as a couple or alone? Let's hear your adventures of bidding like a maniac. LOL

| | | Outrageous hotel casino rates! | | I just checked the rates for Harrah's North Kansas City and Ameristar, for one night for 2 adults (my fiance and I, we're thinking of going to the hotel for his birthday in the end of March).It's $150/room! For Ameristar, whether we get 2 queens or 1 king, it's $150, SHEESH.Harrah's is SLIGHTLY better. For a King bed or 2 doubles, it's TOTAL PRICE: $84.22.Anyone know of any good hotels (& please in a good area, a safe place to stay in the city), for reasonable rates??? | |
