| Here's another good use for garlic | | emailed from a friend that is just beginning her mosquito problems for the year.We are past it here in NE USA but many still have it so here it is..
Ok ...
Heres one for you GARLIC LOVERsWant a good effective mosquito control??Well here is a solution for use in a garden sprayerMix:3-4 oz garlic juice1 oz vegtable oil (any kind) 1 teaspoon liquid non scented soap ( Basic H2 works best ) not detergent1 gallon waterMix throughly While spraying keep mixture well mixed by agitation. For the Mosquito Control..spray around all vent inlets, foundation openings, porches, lanais. ( any access to inside of house)Forgot to mention this is good for TICKs also..won't kill them but will keep them out of your area....Just add half again as much Garlic Juice to the formula and spray around the house's foundation, up around the walls, entery way, any post, fences ....tree trunks and shrubs. And don't forget to spray if you have wood piles.Once your done, go back over it again....yes two times.....then next spray in a week ....then every 3-4 weeks.

| | headshot or spray | | im coming to realize that some people are good "sprayers" and some good accuracy, which type are u? and y do u think its better?
i personally don't spray cuz i think alot will be on chance, but thats just my opinion
| | OH NO!! I have to go grocery shopping. | | Well it's that time that I hate again....grocery shopping. It has to be one of the most miserable experiences for me. It generally starts in the fruit and vegetables section. I'll reach in for a fresh head of lettuce and those water sprayers will come on just as I pop my head in. I'm convinced theres someone monitroing that section on CCTV just waiting for someone to reach in ( i generally buy shampoo first so that I can wash my hair while I'm there...kill 2 birds with one stone).
Then there are those people who just have to have a conversation whilst taking up the entire aisle with their shopping carts and they get agitated when you want to get by...closely followed by the person who is so busy scanning the chickpea section that they run their cart right up the back of your leg....then comes checkout....no matter when I go, it's always really busy and there is only 1 cashier working and they are also doubling as the bagger.
% hours later, I'm done and I go out to my car which has been scraped and dinged by someone who just left their cart to run across the lot to hit my van....always my van...never the surrounding cars...oh well, wish me luck
| | Have you started your seeds indoors? | | This is my first year planting from seed indoors. So exciting! I just love watching everything germinate and grow! I have cauliflower, celery, chives, basil, brussels sprouts, cabbage, head lettuce, tomatoes, artichokes, ground cherries, and edamame. Everything sprouted which has been great! The edamame have done fabulous! I planted them on March 22nd and they are already about 6" tall! I don't know what is normal but this is exciting for me. The celery seem to be growing the slowest althoug it took the longest for my ground cherries to germinate. What kinds of vegies of have you started and how is it going this year? I just purchased one of those pump sprayers used for spraying weed killers and such. I fill it with filtered water and it works like a gem for watering all of my "babies" with a light mist a couple of times a day. Love to hear from you all! | |
| | How Clean Is The Air You Are Breathing? | | How safe is the air that you breath at work, home and in your vehicle or even where you shop? Did you know that many of the products we use in our homes, at school, or in the office can contain or release chemicals into the air. In fact, many cleaners, paints, and other such products have a warning on the container, warning users that the product should only be used in well-ventilated areas. Please always make sure to read the label of the cleaners, paints, and other similar products prior to using and always follow the manufacturer's instructions. To help improve air quality, look for the following on the labels of the products you purchase:
Use products that do not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or that contain very low amounts of these compounds.
Avoid using aerosol products or equipment such as paint sprayers whenever possible. Look for and use water based products, such as water-based paints.
Ensure all products containing VOCs are stored safely in your home in airtight containers. I have asthma and allergies and I have to be very careful to keep the air in my home as clean as possible. The damp winter that we...
