Wild Flower Seeds Discussions And How To's
| I buried a cat | | We were driving down the lonely lane from our house to the local village, when I spotted a dead cat on the road. Of course I stopped the car and Paul got out to have a look. He moved the cat and came back to give me the bad news that it was my Libby, a very unusual looking Siamese type female. As we were on the way to the shops, we left the body tucked in the bushes and picked her up on the way home so we could bury her. We live in a 6,500sq metres of orange grove so picked an ideal spot, under her favourite tree.
We sowed some wild flower seeds on the grave and shed a tear or two whilst wishing her good passage.
That evening Paul came to me and said he was afraid to go to the kitchen and asked me to hold his hand, we walked through the door and (Oh I couldnt believe it)...........
She was sitting on her favourite chair, happily cleaning her whiskers, and taking absolutely no notice of us.....
WE HAD BURIED THE WRONG CAT!
We hadnt checked the cats gender, and never thought there would be another cat out there that looked like her......ah well, at least the poor baby had a very decent burial and we visit its grave daily to check out the flowers -... | |
| | | wild flower | | Here's another photo- I actually I took a lot of photos, pity we can only upload one- that I took in my near summit trek. I had no idea what kind of flower it is, I just assumed it to be wild. But a friend says that it is called a Gladiola and that it isn't wild. So I countered, well since I saw it in the wilds, then it counts as one, LOL! So for those who knows a lot about flowers, is the photo really of a gladiola? | |
| | is it a weed or a wild flower | | I have many weeds growing in my garden, some we know right off that they are weeds and so we pull then out, Then some weeds have pretty flowers on them and we like to let them grow if they are not growing in a flower bed and choking out the flowers that we have planted.
In some parts of the Eastern part of Canada Lupins are thought of as weeds. They are actually wild flowers. Moreover lupins have been grown domestically and gardeners are continually working with them and producing hybrid versions that are very beautiful . Here on Grand Manan we see Lupins growing all over the place, no one controls their growth. They are very pretty. Below I have included a picture. | |
| | | I really like wildflowers, even the ones that people call weeds. | | When I visited Minnesota, I noticed lots of dandelions, more than usual. I get back here, and i see lots of flowering clover. I also took pictures of some lovely violets. They are darker than the ones we have in Kansas. I liked the fact that Minnesota was not putting out massive amounts of poison on their dandelions, and in our environment.How do you feel about dandelions? | | Weeds beautiful? | | The most abundant weed at least in Minnesota is the dandelion. Well being bored today I went outside with my camera. Of the many shots I took was this one. It is a dandelion that has gone to seed. An ugly weed but yet such a beautiful photo I think. Just wanted to share this was all.

| | Array of flowers | | Flowers -- What can you say about them. They are real beauty. A pure gem of work of the nature. What shades, shapes, size and types you find of these flowers in nature! My..... They are wonders..... An arc at the gate with some flowering creeper climbing over.. Two flowering bushes at the sides.... A few trees with leaves gone but in full bloom....... What a siteHave anyone ever seen a apple tree bloom.... or the saffron flower...... or for that matter even the poppy flowers are wonderful. I am a particular fan of flowering plants. I mainly end up planting flowering plants in my garden. Hibiscus, Rose, Mogra, Flowering cactii, and much more. The whites and the reds, the browns and the greens... WOWWWWWW.. They are wonderful addition to the garden.
It is autumn... Out of the window of my room, I can see a Jacaranda tree in full bloom. And when you see a full moon peeping out of it, it is spell binding, awe inspiring. Wonders that flower are...... Who cannot love them. | |
| | Do you like to see Plants and Trees around you. | | I love to see Greenery around me especially outside city limits. For me it is a great relief from noise and smoke pollution. I like to see lots of green plants and green trees. I feel the environment around me a lot fresher and livelier.Do you feel the same. Please share your comments. | |
