| Do You Use Artificial Ornamental Plants/Flowers Inside Your Homes? | | I have observed in one of the stores nearby that they are using artificial/plastic ornamental plants to adorn their facade and as a corner decor inside. The plants looked almost real that I had to touch it just to verify its existence...I once used artificial plants inside our office but I found it to be the nesting place of spiders and small insects. I dismissed the idea of using them because I felt it has a negative dennotation in the area..being an unreal entity.Have you used these plants to adorn your homes? | |

| Asiatic Lily | | Well due to a very hot March here in Minnesota my plants flowers and trees sprung up earlier than normal. This is the first of my maroon/white Asiatic Lilies to bloom. They usually don't open until mid-June. They are a hardy blub flower that withstands the frost we get here in May. Mid-May we got a killing frost 2 days in a row and the lilies survived even though they were out of the ground already. Whew! So did your area get a mid-May killing frost? Are your flowers bloomed yet?

| | Ahhhh, Spring! | | Yes it has been really nice here for March in Minnesota. No snow fell this month at all which I think is a record actually. In my 36 years here I can not recall no snow ever in March. Anyhow, things are popping up all over the place. Lilies, lilacs, Astillibes, other flowers. And this is a shot of my Red Maple tree starting to blossom as well. All a lot early for us Minnesotans. Is your spring early this year as far as blossoming plants/flowers?
As always.....

| Basking in the sun. | | Here's a photo of most my seedlings. As it is over 70 and sunny here in Minnesota, I set them in the southern facing window and let them soak up the heat etc without the grow lamps today. These 2 trays and pot in the top area have maybe 70 plants of various things growing. Squash, brocolli, zucchini, yellow tomatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, catnip, and cabbage. I have 2 flower boxes as well in the office under the lamps. Those have sweet corn and snap peas in them which I planted just today. Do you have a sunny south facing window to use for your plants, flowers, and or seedlings?
As always.....

| | What herbs are the easiest to control? | | I am not very good at keeping any sorts of plants/flowers alive but yet I would like to be able to start a indoor herb garden. There is a small project that I am looking to finish by next summer and am in need some I guess they would be considered aromatherapy herbal plants. I have never worked with herbs before and although I have read up on some stuff before I was looking for some real life opinions on them.I am wanting herbs that are easy to care for, doesn't need much time put into them and can grow in the light as well as possibly in the dark and some what damp areas. I have a sun porch that I can put them in in the summer but a lot of time in the winter it gets a bit colder out in there and I am not sure if the plants will be able to survive out there so I would more than likely be putting them in my basement which is decent but does get that damper appeal...so I need a herb that may be able to survive in both areas. | |

| have you tried to climb a mountain? | | Last April during Holy Week me and my family went to Batangas to visit my sister's mother in law. When we were there we have agreed to climb the mountain nearest to their house its called Mt. Malaraya, There were 8 stations in the mountain that we need to go through before we can reached the top most where there is a huge white cross. We have to register first on the station 1 for the climbers security. During our journey it was very exhausting but very exciting! your tiredness will vanished because of what you see so many trees, plants, flowers, insects and animals everywhere. You can smell the freshness of air and i cant help but to inhale deep because i know i cant have this fresh air in the city. On the 4th station you will find a figure of Mama Mary (grotto) and a flowing water, they said that it is a sacred place and we offer our prayers here. A lot more of walking and then finally we reached the top where you can find a very huge white cross. I was a very nice experience to climb a mountain..have you tried it? | |
| | A Sunday Visit | | My wife and I went to visit our daughter and family Sunday morning. While there it is a family ritual we go to this huge Nursery near her cvalled Pahl's. This place is a farm actually it seems. They grow their own plants flowers trees etc all year long. Anyhow prior to going to her house I dug up a bunch of my strawberries to give to her for her garden etc. This is a photo of the dozen or so plants I took to her house. Well in the long run after returning from Pahl's Nursery I ended up planting her strawberries and a few other garden plants for her Sunday. I bought some for my gardens as well and put them in today. Do you do gardening work for family and or friends as well as your own? Are you the green thumb of the family like myself?

| | Springtime is almost here, what are your plans for your gardens? | | Well, for me it's almost springtime, if not already here. I live in the Sonoran Desert and we're enjoying some warm weathered days lately. I can't complain. I noticed that not only are my white flowered ground covered plants growing like weeds, I have weeds! Ugh, I know what I'm doing this weekend. What are your plans? Are you going to tend to the plants, flowers and garden you already have, alter it a tad or just do something new and whacky? Just watch out for those bees!*Pleiades | |
