wine glasses Discussions And How To's
| Different wine glasses | | The growing trend of popularity of wine has led to a boom in things to go with wine like corkscrews, stoppers, coolers, napkins, pouring baskets, decanters, candles, thermometers, bottle jackets, hydrometers and dozens of varieties of each accessory from electric versions to manual ones. Needless to say, a lot of these accessories will be used until the novelty wears off and then left at the back of the cupboard.
However, there is one category of wine drinking accessory that no wine drinker should be without and that is wine glasses
| | Our latest addition! | | Yesterday was a long-awaited wine festival for us. This local winery, Linganore, has one "festival" a month and we went to the one yesterday. Each month all summer long, they have one weekend with live entertainment. It's a great time, and a nice change from the every-day duldrums. The coolest part is getting a new wine glass! This year they were stemless - way cool! | |
| | Does The Glass Affect The Flavor Of The Wine? | | Some of us loves to drink expensive cocktail such as Martini, Margarita, Shirley Temple and even wines etc...I just noticed, that each time the bartender serve different cocktails or wine, they come in different shape of glasses..Andrew Jefford, a renown wine expert said " The contours of a glass can project liquid to different tongue zones. glasses affect the aroma too"..
Does type or shape glass really affect the flavor of wine or other beverage? What do you think?[em]happy[/em]
| | | Must you drink wine with a wineglass? | | This is the unabridged story of my pair of wineglasses whom I posthumously name Alpha and Beta.A long, quite long, time ago, I bought 2 wineglasses from a supermarket. They were promotional products by the alcohol company so the supermarket was selling them on the sly. And because it was not wholly right, they sold them to me real cheap. I paid less than a buck each for Alpha and Beta.So happily, I brought them home and enjoyed their company for a while. Then one day, I noticed Alpha missing from the fridge. I panicked - has someone kidnapped him? Later on, I discovered that Person A had mercilessly shattered Alpha on the floor and he did not even have the courtesy to inform me.Period.Last week, while Beta was wallowing in loneliness, I brought her out for a drink. I*always* give Alpha and Beta their showers personally. But just this ONCE, the sink was occupied and I was tired. I left the glass there and the next thing I knew, I was informed that Beta broke a leg while a kind Person B was showering her.Ouch. Once, I had Alpha and Beta. Then I had just Beta. Now, both have left me.*sniff*I went around town looking for Gamma and Delta. All I found was their... | |
| | Celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary | | [em]happy[/em]It was our 8th wedding anniversary last January 15, 2010. Since my husband is not in the country, my husband and I had no special celebration. We just had a long nice talk in the internet, through Skype. It was an online celebration. We were laughing at how we celebrated our anniversary. We both had wine glasses and had a toss through the internet. Anyway, I could still feel his presence even if he is physical away from me. We are counting for more wedding anniversaries.Best wishes to us. . .[em]happy[/em] tired. I left the glass there and the next thing I knew, I was informed that Beta broke a leg while a kind Person B was showering her.Ouch. Once, I had Alpha and Beta. Then I had just Beta. Now, both have left me.*sniff*I went around town looking for Gamma and Delta. All I found was their rich cousin Omega that costs FIFTY times what I first paid. So until I find a wineglass more reasonably priced, I had to drink my wine in a cup. Yes, a cup or a glass that is not a wineglass. If you were me, must you drink wine with a wineglass? Or would any receptacle do? It's just like how some people must have noodles... | |
| | What is wrong with making money? | | Without searching for them I have found reviews of a restaurant and a beverage that both complained because something was done to promote capitalism, make more money. The first was a review of Olive Garden because they started to more predominantly feature wines. They have wine glasses as well as water glasses at the table when you come in. They will bring a carafe of wine that you serve yourself and pay for by the glass. When you walk in you are right in front of the bar with a display of the various wines they offer. The second was V8 juice, which the person liked and gave a generally favorable review of. The comments I talk of were about V8 splash and how that was just a way to take advantage of it's popularity with another product. Why is it selling out or scamming or evil to want to make money. Why do people complain if someone comes up with something new or tries to 'push' something beyond the norm. "Would you like fries with that burger and drink?"They are in business to make money. They want to make a profit, and will offer up items that are easy for them to make or serve, and that will make them a nice profit.Grocery stores will offer items at a low... | |

...the perfect outfit to wear if the employer or man of her dreams wants to see her in an hour.
...a youth she's content to leave behind.
...a past thats so juicy she's looking forward to retelling in her old age.

| | 2 broken glass! | | to make the story short my husband broke the 2 red wine glasses he bought this month december.the funny thing is it did happen yesterday and today the same time, lunch time. so anyone of my myfriends here knows the meaning of it?pleasee help me clear this things![em]sad[/em]sh' something beyond the norm. "Would you like fries with that burger and drink?"They are in business to make money. They want to make a profit, and will offer up items that are easy for them to make or serve, and that will make them a nice profit.Grocery stores will offer items at a low profit price, hoping that you buy other items that make them more money. Other stores will have sales, hoping that even if you buy just the sale items, you remember the store and come back later to buy the larger mark-up items. It is carpe diem, buyer beware. You are responsible for your actions. If I want to buy the wine at Olive Garden, or drink the V8 splash, it is my choice. I don't feel I am being scammed because I know it is up to ME to make the decision. It is up to ME to be responsible. I have no one to blame but myself.America was built on capitalism and profits. | |
| | This sounds promising | | I was contacted by the winery that sells my toffee this morning for a special order for there Halloween party on Friday. I got to talking with one of the owners, Bob, and he offered to put a link to my website(when it is actually finished) on their website. Free of charge. He was also talking to me about some ideas for Christmas basket ideas for them with wine, wine glasses, and some toffee. It sounds like things could really start to pick up for me really soon. Have you ever paid someone to put a link to your site on their site, or have them offer to do it for free? | |
